kelorgo, is the "unactivated" data.dat an addendum to your instructions in post 303? I don't see a difference otherwise.

Since the "kelorgo-ProWMC-iso" is good for use on any new system; which "data.dat" it contains should not matters much, correct??

I've re-read kelorgo's latest post and believe I understand now...just a way of obtaining a correct 'data.dat' without burning the activation of the WMC key used to create it. A 'data.dat' obtained from an unactivated WMC system must not be significantly different than one from an activated system.

So indeed nsfgp's question is appropriate - why create another 'data.dat' when we already have one - just to make the entire process completely independent of anyone else's files?

I extracted my win8 Pro as mentioned in page 1 in this post under Creating WMC iso only, after extracting win8 pro from the iso that was created with MS when I bought it I found that there is no install.wim file instead there is install.esd so I cut it and paste it into wim folder and change extension to .wim then start it the first command as mentioned
Dism /mount-wim /wimfile:C:\win8\wim\install.wim /index:1 /mountdir:C:\win8\mount but I got error 11
what I should do now and what I am doing wrong!
doing this for my second laptop that I did not bought win8 pro but activated thru kms then a legit MS WMC key.

 

This iso won't work u got to have the iso having install.wim in it... google for torrents related to msdn iso

If it contail install.wim it will work... but u need another iso for enterprise version if u want to make AIO

Can u just try one thing for me... just try to open the install.esd with 7-zip... if works tell me I what it contains... may be ur download of pro iso would be avoided

whats the difference between faikee data.dat and the one kelorgo data.bat?? which one should i use so that i can install prowmc from a clean install on any machine using upgrade key? while not being tied to only one machine?

 

I tried to open it with 7-zip but did not open
The VL version of win8 pro did not update as mentioned in 1st page it says that it is not upgradable

fardeen, I think I can answer this (I had to reread it a couple of times as well).

This "do it twice" refers to the AIO version, if you just make the "ISO with WMC only" you don't have to do it twice. So the sentence in red in your msg #340 only applies to the AIO version, with multiple install choices. Hope this helps.

 

When I inserted this command Dism /Image:C:\win8aio\mount /Set-EditionrofessionalWMC I got error that this is not upgragable version, do I have to replace data.dat file before this command?
