No way... I don't think so... this is a limited time offer given by MS... I believe that the time is for activation of free freshly installed keys
NO it is 10... and don't activate online second time... create a activation backup while u activate the first time
Are you talking about reactivating after a reinstall on the same system with a key matching that system, or are you talking about using the key on separate systems? In my experience, a WMC upgrade key can be used a very large number of times to reinstall/reactivate on the same system it's already bound to. I lost count of how many times i reactivated on the same system with the same key, but it's still working. On the other hand, I could use a WMC upgrade key to activate only a single system. When trying to activate a second system, I get an error message that it's already being used on another computer. So what does the "10" refer to?
I am talking after reinstall not on second system... it will never work... after 10 reinstalls u have to activate through phone...
In my opinion, "10" stands for activating online with WMC key (on the same system), without activation restore.
We will see what happen after 31 Januari the time will learn (and we too) At least we have time to make a nice WIn 8 PRo WMC iso and make some backups
Yeah why are ppl making claims and not providing proof or reference - opinions can become fact in noobs minds..
One more question: If I install Win8 WMC, using the modified data.dat iso, will I end up in an activated windows 8? (if enter my WMC upgrade key during installation)
If you have an active internet connection while you install, you should do. If for whatever reason it doesn't say that it's activated yet, you can manually click to activate. Your system is genuine and is activatable.
@ambidav Today i was trying to install Dotnet Framework 3.0 from AIO DVD & i run the command dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:\sources\sxs but it shows error. i tried again but again same error. Then i realized that AIO DVD's sxs folder is of 32 bit ISO & i am trying to install feature on 64 bit OS. Then i mounted 64bit iso & feature installed successfully by running same command. Is it possible to add 32 + 64 bit packages on AIO image under SXS folder?
whats the equivalent instruction for win7 for this command? Code: Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:c:\win8\wim\install.wim /SourceIndex:1 /DestinationImageFile:c:\win8\iso\sources\install.wim /compress:maximum thanks
i ended up with a 648mb iso ?..lol I too ended up with a file this size...what are we doing wrong? anyone?
I finally created my (pen-) ultimate ProWMC iso (one that accepts a free key). Earlier in the week there was a new Howto for a WMC iso almost every day, so I had to do a bit of cleaning up before starting this one. It works beautifully, I chose the version with only data.dat integrated, so I can enter my key after setup. I was hoping including the key in autounattend.xml would pre-install the key, but it didn't. I was planning on using different keys (I have 6) in different autounattend.xml files (selected from usb, using WinNTSetup), but I'll have to change that plan. Now I'll probably use an AutoIt script that runs slmgr /ipk and slmgr /ato and lets me choose between the 6 keys (bound to specific PCs that were pre-activated with their keys, of course). So I installed with the iso, ran slmgr /ipk and slmgr /ato, and my system was activated. Neato!!!!! Thanks for all your help! This is great stuff!
Can you share your ISO? I also have created and tested my ISO, which is a combination of Windows 8 with Media Center x86 and x64, with the proper data.dat and EI.cfg.
Well, I don't see the point in sharing it, really. I have a very slow upload, and my version is Dutch. But isn't the HowTo so brilliantly simple that anyone can do it?
