When creating a AIO with VL isos is necessary to add the EI.CFG file? If yes, then, what is the content in the EI.CFG file for VL isos?

    Many thanks!

    Code:
    [Channel]
    Volume

    [VL]
    1
Copy in Notepad and save as ei.cfg, not ei.cfg.txt.

Are there some files safe to delete on Windows 8.1 installation iso? I crafted my own AIO but is about 100 MB oversized to fit on a DVD5 (4.7GB). It's just a little bit.

technically you can remove the sources\sxs folder. It's not directly needed for installs, but is needed if you wanted to add something like net3 with dism.

Well, I don't need to add anything with dism except upgrade Pro 8.1 to Pro 8.1 with Media Center only. Can I still deleting sxs folder?

To upgrade and getting the option to choose if I want to keep programs and files, or only personal files, I modifies the "cversion" file and inside I put an older version "9431". (using Windows 8.1)
I didn´t test it in an AIO, but in a single ISO worked.

With Windows 8, it's very easy to create an AIO, but now with Windows 8.1, there are too much difficulties. Do you use both 'ei.cfg' files, for retail and volume ?
And what about upgrading. Is there a option to upgrade and/or choose to keep programs and files, or only personal files ?

For upgrading purposes use normal, clean releases, not AIOs

Where did you find the ei.cfg with both channels ?

    Never mind, do the following:
    Code:
    [Channel]
    Retail

    [VL]
    0

WMC can be added into Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro, or only in Pro Edition ?

Windows 8.1 Pro —index 1 within install.wim file is WMC upgrade capable. BUT you have to pick Retail channel iso, not VL.

As for Windows 8.1 (aka Core) is not capable.

None of them requires a key. I inserted the key you see for other purposes.
