Just realized I built is image on Windows 7. Could that be the cause of my problem? Does this procedure need to be done under Windows 8?
I don't know what your ei.cfg looks like, but you should make it like so: Code: [Channel] Retail That's literally all you need.
will be there an update guide for making Win 8.1 with update AIO?? so i can delete all my win 8.1 ISO so there isn't to much space for collecting the iso. i'm still waiting for the guide.
Found out at least one of my problems. I forgot to turn on showing of extensions in explorer, so the ei.cfg file I was creating was actually called ei.cfg.txt. Once I fixed that I was able to get past the CDKey problem I was having. My new problem is that instead of only the 6 editions of windows, I'm showing like 8. I think I may have typed a command in wrong so I have to start the whole process over again later today.
Maybe you accidently exported the same images too many times. The only way that would be possible is if you renamed the same image, but check your work...
well, on the 1st page is something else about the ei.cfg file! Anyway... Thank You for the answer, will try it now!
The last word in the below command line is "mount" should it be "sources"? Dism /mount-wim /wimfile:C:\win81aio\win81\sources\install.wim /index:3 /mountdir:C:\win81aio\mount Thank you
Just tried to build the AIO disc again, same results as before. Here is the list of versions I get in the setup... Windows 8.1 Pro x86 Windows 8.1 x86 Windows 8.1 x86 Windows 8.1 Pro x86 Windows 8.1 Pro x86 Windows 8.1 Enterprise x86 Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center x64 Windows 8.1 Pro x64 Windows 8.1 Pro x64 Windows 8.1 Enterprise Update: Figured it out. I copied the install file out of the win81/sources folder instead of moving it. So it was appending content into the original 32bit file. Once I fixed that everything is working great now.
works but on not all i followed the guide and tested the iso using VM player, that works ok, i then tried it on 2 laptops that worked ok however then tried it on sony laptop and it didnt even load the usb, i then tried to burn original 64 iso and that worked on the sony laptop. i had secure boot off and uefi enabled. My questions is, do certain laptops/manufacturers/bios look for original iso content to successfully boot?

View attachment 28168 I just started and get what you see above: "The system cannot find the path specified. Error 3" The paths are valid. I have the latest toolkit and am running on Win 8.1 Update x64. I've looked around for info on this, but the best I can find is this, which doesn't apply since I don't have it set: The error lines in the log:
Message will also appear when one is trying to write to a folder that doesn't exist, as dism cannot create new folders .
This does exist though: h:\win81aio\win81\sources install.wim isn't in sources there, but I think that's correct based on an earlier step where it was moved out.
Is the x86 WIM in it's appropriate folder ? The step you show, should export the 'Core' index of x86 multi-edition WIM. If there is no index two found, the error will appear.
Yes, that's the lone file in h:\x86. It's the install.wim moved from h:\win8aio\win81\sources. It's the one from this file, which is multi-edition: en_windows_8.1_with_update_x86_dvd_4065105.iso I should mention that I'm using the Feb 20, 2014 version of dism.exe.
I thought I'd figured it out when I noticed that DISM comes with Windows and had a version later than what's in ADK (6.3.9600.17031 vs 6.3.9600.17029), but no, that's not it.
Hmm, no clue what's the problem with the commands . As i had trouble to it correctly this way back in the days, i started to get used to DISM better to do it myself .
It will give the same error if any of the directories are not present as well. check to make sure you haven't made it H:\win81aio\win81\x86\sources instead
