That is what I am saying. IIRC these stale mount points even last between reboots. Always remember to run clean-up command after you've had trouble dismounting. Make a batch file for it, I know it will happen again. I don't believe it has anything to do with the folder, but more to do with the WIM Image # in question. Each image can only be mounted in one location at one time and stale mount points even though they're dismounted still appear to DISM as a mount point.
Thanks for explaining. Like I said this was just a play around drive I was using for this purpose (don't want to screw up my main drive, even though I have a backup), so I can just erase it and fire up a new OS and start over. Thanks again so much!
I already successfully created the AIO iso but I would like to build a net framework 3.5 enabled AIO iso using the following command: Code: Dism /Image:c:\win8aio\mount /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:c:\win8aio\win8\sources\sxs /LimitAccess Do I have to mount and unmount all the 8 indexes ? thanks
gimagex needs to update their sku flags. For that reason i skip the gui and use (with imagex.exe) imagex /info "path to wim file" 1 "Windows 8 Pro with Media Center" "Windows 8 Pro with Media Center" Yes, you have to remount them all over again. Alternatively, you can do it online (after install) from a firstlogon.cmd type approach. It will add a few minutes to each install though, so its for your benefit to do it beforehand so its already done with.
Would this work in Windows 8 or Windows 7? Isn't the DISM, etc., build into Win 8 so you don't even need the deployment kit?
True you don't need deployment kit for windows 8!! but for windows 7 it's recommended as the commands ive used only work with windows 8 dism and deployment kits dism!! they won't work with win 7 dism
I tried to activate Pro with WMC (clean install) with a legal key. It complains the key can only be used with upgrades. Activation works fine when you first install Pro then upgrade to WMC and then activate. It occurred to me that does Pro with Media Center ever come as retail install, I think MS said it is only upgrade so we are stuck with upgrade WMC keys that wont work with clean install.
ambidav, pilot76103 and Mr Jinje: I managed to get them all going! pilot76103: I was able to make the install disc from the .iso on a DVD5 (single layer disc). Said 99% full. Thank you all so much again!
