Hi, These are the steps you can try, 1) A clean Windows reinstall. Don't use a homebrew/modified ISO. 2) Try removing sticks of RAM and using it only on one channel. Each stick one by one. You can also try memtest86 at this point on individual sticks. Try changing slots as well. Could be a bad DIMM slot. 3) If you've already replaced the motherboard try another hard drive. 4) Worst case, you may have a bad CPU. Try some replacement unit. Good Luck. Regards.
And in case you can't run memtest86 (I don't think it works with a UEFI bios), run Prime95 overnight and keep an eye on the cpu temperature at first to make sure it won't overheat. Try one stick of ram at a time.
prime95 does not need to be run over night, but instead run an hour of each individual FFTs test (Smallest/Small/Large) should disable the internet connection while torturing and not use the PC memtest86 v4 (classic) works with BIOS, while memtest86 v5-v8 and later works with UEFI! a basic indication of RAM being OK is to complete tests 1 to 5, but the full 1 to 13 tests should be run to diagnose recent RAM (DDR4) swapping RAM sticks around and then firmly locking them can do wonders (and while at it, do brush the dust off from slots and sticks with a very soft brush or a vacuum)
Open cmd as admin Type the following command, and then press Enter. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth It may take several minutes for the command operation to be completed. And then run the sfc /scannow Reboot and see if that helps
Thank you for your advice! I'm not able to do this right now, but I'll do this tests on Monday and let you know what happens. Probably the BIOS update will be the last step, because... I don't know if this has to do, but, when checking in speecy or AIDA64, the RAM manufacturer appears as unknown... O_O I could run the sfc and dism commands, no integrity violations were found or anything. I just need to run Prime95 and see what happens from there (like updating the BIOS) I'll keep you updated! Thanks!
OK, today I had some time to do some tests, currently, I'm running Prime95. Before, I updated the BIOS (was easy, phew...!) to version 1.50 (latest stable one), and ran again the sfc and dism commands, nothing bad was found or nothing needed repair. A little note, I got another BSOD after updating the BIOS and reaching desktop, I assume it was the same code, as the screen looked garbled and weird and couldn't really say what happened there :V In any case, I'm thinking the same as you, @ashish.k I am seriously thinking it's the RAM. Because this PC had another motherboard before this one, (I saw when the tech guy unpacked this MSI board, brand new.) And I have tested with generic drivers, the originals from the CD and the ones available on MSI website, and I still have this BSODs... Ahh... before all this, on Thursday I ran a windows memory diagnostic, and said the memory was fine, but I am not sure if I can really trust that test... I'll keep you updated with the results of the Prime95 tests. Cheers!
BSOD about structure corruption=Reseat the RAM and try again. Español: BSOD sobre corrupción de estructura = Vuelva a colocar la RAM e intente nuevamente. Pérdida importante de la integridad de la estructura de datos, probablemente la ranura RAM o RAM
Well... I ran Prime95 for a couple of hours, the CPU didn't overheat, and the RAM seems... Good... probably. I still don't want to discard the RAM, because I just ran the tests for some hours, and since some people say overnight... In any case, after some reboots, the system blue screened on me once today with the same code (makes 2 for the day). I'm using this KMS_VL_ALL activator I found here on the forums for activating both Windows and Office, might it be the cause of this BSODs by any chance? In case it's because of a driver... (supposedly it injects a DLL for KMS activation) This is the thing: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/kms_vl_all-smart-activation-script.79535/ After the last BSOD, it hasn't BSODed... but I can't say this is good to go just yet... After looking at that list from MSI about RAM brands, I'm almost certain I will have to change both sticks (good I have warranty with my tech guy), they don't even show a brand... only god knows what kind of stuff is this RAM I got here... Ah, BTW, I took the sticks out and re-seated them, let's see what happens. I'll keep you updated guys! Cheers!!
Welp... I got another BSOD today starting the system... I am seriously thinking on bringing this to the tech guy on January... he might have to replace this RAM sticks with something less shady X3. In any case, I'll keep you updated in case I do something else meanwhile. Cheers!
Yeah, now I'm sure the RAM is faulty, today the PC had problems to boot, the mobo has a led that flashes for HDD and other stuff when booting, and sometimes it flashes with the RAM only, so I'm just assuming the MoBo is warning me about something faulty. The brand is blackpcs (A thing I never heard in my life), so I think on January I will be visiting my tech guy and asking for another brand, at least something from Samsung or Adata... (I'm just changing the two sticks, I don't know this brand XD) Ah, the error code changed today as well, I got two corruption thingies, but on a reboot, it showed a "system thread exception not handled"... this last reminds me of that BSOD I had with my old Windows 7, that showed this BSOD when the RAM was like not seated good or something (Except that MoBo was cheap as hell and I think the RAM slots were kind of faulty, that MoBo was a PCChips thing) I'll keep you updated guys! Cheers!!
For me, I think I got 0x00000050 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA before with such condition and on a DDR2 Athlon X2, I think an Athlon X2 4000+ or something like that, IIRC, I got 0x0000008E before, because of that! The error combos you received, possibly a PSU problem. Bad caps suspected in the PSU. May also be bad caps on the motherboard as well. Avoiding bad caps on a new PSU: 1. Don't get a bronze-rated PSU! They usually have what are believed to be so-so caps at best. 2. Go for a gold-rated PSU. 3. Most Thermaltake brand PSUs look like poo, TBH! The ToughPowers are the only confirmed ones to hold up.
FYI Prime95 does not stress RAM it's a test for CPU stability in case you are overclocking. I told you to test with memtest86, that's specifically for RAM. In any case it's pretty clear your RAM is bad. So either change for a known brand or get a refund and buy new sticks by known brand. Regards.
Thank you so much, everybody! So, I took the PC with my tech guy, since I was able to isolate what RAM stick was the problem, he replaced it and voila! No more BSODs! I wanted to inform you about this. Thank you so much again!!
