    Well i used a activator I found online and i came across permanent activator.. now it just says windows was activated.. is this permanent?

    Any thing that is not legit retail or MAK key has always the risk at some point if Microsoft comes out with WGA for W8 has possibility of deactivation .. If you backup your activation or image the HDD you should be able however to get back to activated state ..

    Type in command prompt (run as administrator):

    sfc /scannow

    At the end see if system still active!

    on my windows 8.1 (full activated)
    i dont have a data.dat

    tokens exist

    Run these cmds in Command Prompt (Admin)

    START C:\Windows\System32\spp\store\2.0\
    ATTRIB /D /S -H "C:\Windows\System32\spp\store\2.0\data.dat"

    Is that why you joined windows mail account to link it to perhaps the key?
