Get the latest version of the driver for dell 5530 here: mydellmini.com/forum/dell-mini-1010/20287-windows-7-drivers-dell-mini-10-1010-a.html

The Driver will activate the GPS once it recognize that a software want's to get access to the datas.

    Hope this help.

    Try VirtualGPS it is freeware.
Then configure the port to the GPS port.
Go outside and then look about the incoming messages.
Around 5 minutes later it should have the first satelites.
Maybe it is not fix. Wait a little bit longer and it should get a fix.

For me happened somethging but unfortunately not in the positive.
If I install the GPS port itself through the device manager, comes a crush by the Netbook dosnt matter if from Dell or Ericsson take the driver and I have to reboot. Then I get a blue screen who tells me that the driver of the GPSport are stupid. Then I go into safe mode and see there, the driver is installed correctly. After another reboot the same with the blue screen.
    Can someone work with it?
