just bought a dell inspiron n7010 from ebay, the bios is locked with a password, the service code is 4042SN1 i dont know what the 4 digit suffix is, the labels on the bottom of the laptop are missing, any help getting the password would be great, also if i cant get the password, is there a way to remove the eeprom or short the eeprom to reset the password ?

    I Have Messed Up Somewhere

    Hi KingEdwards,
I burned this reset.iso to a blank disk and placed it into my laptop. Got no response so I switched it off with the cd still inside it. Now my laptop won't reboot or even start up with or without the battery. What do I do? New to this forum. First posting. :(

try (dload it cgsecurity) cmospwd.exe /k in dos .. doubt it will work but its worth a shot since 1D3B isnt supported by publicly available keygens

Dell Latitude D600. All I did was burn the reset.iso onto a mastered CD-R formatted disk not format like flash drive one and put the disk into the laptop. I got no response so I turned the lappy off with the disk inside. Tried to turn it on and got nothing. Since then the lappy refuses to turn on. Even now I see the charging light and nothing else. Whilst here how do I get instant e-mail alerts to replies? I have been to general settings and set default thread mode to 'instantly using e-mail'.

I am now getting e-mail alerts as I expect.
The power button? Trip to an expert beckons. Thankfully this is a friend's laptop with permission to fix it anyhow I like as long as I get it working normally.

Well the tool does work ( I tried it on my M2400 to test), but it only works IF you can boot from it. I tried it on an Dell E6400 which has the Administrator and System password lock. And there isn't a way to get pass the screen even with the F12 option.

Is there a possibility to bypass the admin password for BIOS to boot from image file you have provided?

On dell e6430 there is admin pass on bios and I can't change boot settings..
on F12 i get the option to boot from CD/DVD but it asks for admin pass

try the rear usb ports.. unplug any usb dvices with storage like printer with SDcard

i fix inspiron 530 and had that issue with some ports.. some usb devices.

    load bios setup defaults.
