WINDOWS 7 actually using modified D4700A10.hdr. It was modified with SLIC2.1. The different in the offset is because you're comparing original D4700A10.hdr with SLIC2.1 D4700A10.hdr.
Oh okay. Originally I did modify the original non SLIC'd one but I switched to the SLIC one. I didn't think other modules offsets would differ. Is it really necessary to use the original?
Which another BIOS? The changes doesn't seem necessary. BTW, please use quote button when replying. How do I know which one is the answer to my question.
I checked the mod you done. It looks correct (except the one I argued at post #646). Both checksums also correct. Did you double check both checksum? If yes & they're correct, so they are correct. You have been told to fix both checksums because it is the right thing to do. I see you already fix the first checksum but how about the 2nd checksum. Did you check the second checksum whether it it correct or not? If already correct, so no need to fix it. You don't know how to flash BIOS using the .HDR file? Yes, you can but I don't remember how. You'll need to find out. You're in uncharted waters. Whether the modified BIOS will works or not, you'll need to test it for yourself. You'll need to take the risk bricking your computer. No one will be able to tell you for sure it won't brick your computer. I'm myself have bricked my computers many time. Fortunately I know how to recover corrupted BIOS on my computer. So, right now, the right expression is "do or die", right?
I already understood. But why complicate the problem if there is a simple way. If the mod with the original bios will work and we can tie the slic, but if not then it will be easier to find errors. Something does not work I downloaded from the site. Downloaded some sort of crap as "microcod.dat". What to do not know. If you are not hard to publish files for 0F65 to study for me.
Probably not possible. Oh well, it shouldn't brick it unless it's a "bad flash" correct? Could you answer my other questions too please? Thanks.
So the "second checksum" is the checksum of the whole .hdr file itself? If it is, it already matches the original whole file .hdr CRC32 and I did not need to fix two... If my mod was done "correctly" I think it will not brick my system unless a bad flash occurs.
Hi aascut, I'm interested in your investigation here. Actually I tried to learn it myself in last couple of weeks but I unable to understand it. My assembly language is rusty. I hope you can explain to me how to change the TOLUD. I'm still unable to figure out how TOLUD is set in the BIOS. Thank you.
