Hello everyone It's been a while since I look on the internet how to modify the service tag of my e6430 dell computer after changing of my motherboard. I tried with Dell Bios Reset but it does not work for changing the service tag. Thank you in advance for your help.
I've done some searching on the net. Assuming what I've learned is accurate: 1 - a service tag can be entered one time only, and only on a board with no service tag. 2 - if an incorrect service tag was entered, the motherboard must be replaced with one with a blank tag. 3 - there apparently is a program floating around to let the end user do this, but it is only known to work on older Dell Latitude Dxxx series laptops. No known end user solution for Exxx models.
