I have an Inspiron 530 Intel board and I just did the update to 1.0.1.8 from 1.0.0.7 which allowed me to fully access 8gb of memory. The only thing that annoys me is that Dell didn't bother to have an option for AHCI. Am using the "raid" option at the moment but it adds a lot of time to bootup. Is there anyway to get a bios update that will add this option? I am not up to doing bios tweaks and I think I could end up making the machine useless by mucking around with the bios file. Maybe someone could give me some pointers on learning how to tamper with bios files so I could figure something out?
I still have this machine and would very much like to do some updates with the BIOS file but? Windows 10 I have installed on my main machine and would love to add it to the 530 but, MS says I can't because of some kind of BS attached to the CPU? so, in order to put 10 on this 530 I have to do a clean install as it won't allow me to do the upgrade. Anyone have any ideas? please.
