Hello, I have the Dell Inspiron 9400 and was curious if anyone knew about modding the bios to either be replaced by the m1710 bios or the cpu overclock part of the bios could be made to work with the 9400. With the t7600g in the m1710 and a bios update it could be overclocked from factory but the catch is the 7600g is just a 7600 with a different id which means it should be possible to mod the m1710 to overclock any 7600.

I dunno how Intel locks their CPUs but I'm very certain it's a eFuse or some other silicon level f**kery. No amount of BIOS modding will unlock it. Just get a T7600 if you can find one cheap, the T7600G is not worth it and I say this as someone who had one in his M90.
