I have set a BIOS password on my Dell latitude D630 A17 and I can't remember what it is, Service tag JCRWW3J-595B. If anyone can help with a master password I'd be grateful.
    Thanks in advance.

To be specific your keyboard is:
    Keyboard, 84, Germany/German, Black, E Series Notebook Mainstream Dual-Pointing

The simplest way around this is to plug in a usb U.S. keyboard

and enter the passwords on that.

1F5A is bad. I tried a forceful downgrade on my E6410 to Version A06. But it will not boot from the stick.
If anyone knows how to rename the E6410A06.hdr file then please give me an Info. ;)

    Thx folks

    Hi Baddy,

    Hi Guys,

Just joined the forum and have gone to upgrade a couple of old Latitude D830's that were purchased from a school upgrading it's IT equipment. The Bios is at version A17 (3A5B) for one and i cannot use a current dell.exe to get the admin password and on the other it had version A02 (595B) which I have been able to resolve.

Any hints to resolve the former? Service Tag is '470D83J-3A5B' and help would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a more upto date dell latitude e6430 with service tag 4YP87W1-1D3B when the wireless setting are locked and need to be change but again admin password is set and cannot unlock. I have researched this and call dell but as this has been purchased by 3rd party i cannot validate proof or originall purchase and therefore they cannot provide the master password. Not helpful at all and i now i have two laptops which cannot be fully restored....#FRUSTRATED

Again any help will be greatly appreciated, at this point i do not have the steady hand or the bottle to hard reset the CMOS, plus got mony invested in the laptop which i do not want to burn.

    Problem with HDD

Hi! I'm sorry to bother but I have tryied to resolve my 630 HDD password with every method I could find and didn't work.
It's a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 120Gb. "***5VG3JG08-595B" is the code. It should be "hz2hfihe" but it's not working. The asteriks are beacuse Seagate SN is shorter....I've also tryied with spaces....

I've bought the 630 second handed and I do not worry about the data. Seatools does not have the option to erase the crypto (and the data) for this model and it's a pity to throw it to the trash.....
Is it posible that the HDD was encrypted in other Laptop and that's the reason why it doesn't work?

    Thanks in advance
