that's a sure possibility, but there is a dell page which inform which model may get win7 if it was purchased between June 26 to a certain date (cant remember). I'm at work now, I will post the link when I get home (in 4 hours).
oh hmm when did the m1530 get pulled? the earliest articles i found was from may but im not sure if they were still being sold in june or not. I havent really payed attention to any of that until RTM for win7 was released along with the whole slic 2.1 discussion.
what do u mean limited beta program for windows7? and i think every m1530 has a fingerprint reader. i actually ordered mine without one and it came with it. i was going to do the dos flash bios not the windows one.
well upek 3.5 works fine on windows 7, but they have a new version for 2009 thats a limited beta, you will have to check out their website for more info
truthfully i couldnt care less if the finger print reader doesnt work or not. i have used it all of 0 times
Why does the bios have to be upgraded to slic 2.1? I am using windows vista ultimate 32 and was hoping to run across a dell windows 7 ultimate disk and be able to install it on my m1530 without having to enter a key and avoid using a retail version. Is that possible? I do a lot of OS reinstall and don't want to worry about activation/cracks.
Simple answer, offline activation requires 3 things 1. Bios with SLIC 2.1 2. OEM Key 3. OEM Certificate 2 and 3 should be already integrated into Dell discs.
Thanks for your quick response. Will the SLIC 2.1 work with the vista I am running without any problems or should I wait until I am ready to do the upgrade?
how do you load the certificate? i have the dell ceritificate i got from the 40 certificate deal then i got the dell oem key. but does the certificate get loaded with the bios slic 2.1 hack or after?
