    I'm assuming you meant to use the svctag/asset/bios reset stuff?

    Unfortunately, when I try to do so, I get a message stating "Error: This machine does not support an asset/service tag."

    Not sure what to do...

    There are few different versions - have you tried them all?

    I've tried the latest I could find...

    model is a t7400

    You don't need the latest, you need the one for your model.
    So I suggest trying at least few different ones.

    D620_A10_SLIC.EXE (rebuilt Dell flash utility)

    Tested out today on a Dell Lat D620... No Success.

    I flashed the bios with this version and installed Win 7 Ultimate from disk downloaded from digitalriver as posted here in another thread. I also (to hedge my bets) inserted the OEM Edition 2.4.2.folder from sam3971 into the source directory prior to buliding my ISO and burning to disk.

    The Dell SLP and Key would not load so sams loader defulted the the "Acer" Cert and key. (as it should). Still Stuck with 30 days to activate... Bla Bla Bla

    So My question is this. Because the x86 download from DR. is "retail" copy of the media and I am trying to use "oem SLPs" is this the prob? Or am i tottally missing the boat here?

    My first born child and half of my kingdome for the one who can get the slic 2.1 to work on the dell 620 :)

    It can modify 1088_A02.EXE BIOS successful!great well:D
