    @ ClamChowder, You really need to watch what you do with award dell bioses a lot of the boards seem to Foxcon have you checked to see if your MAC address is still there ?

    The recomended way to flash the Dell bios and NOT lose MAC address is like this:
    awdflash bios.bin /cc/cd/cp/py/wb/sn/E

    personaly i used awdflash.exe 713D1P53.bin /py/sn/cc on my inspiron 530 it is ok.

    And if possible use the award flasher that comes with the original bios.

    Does anyone has the mod for Vostro 3400 nSeries?

    tried out ASSET PASS:12/31, reboot, nothing happened;

    hope to hear from any gurus here....

    I tried that. It says that this program needs to be run in windows. I downloaded the DOS equivalent and that also does not work.

    I have a dell inspiron 531 and trying to flash both modified bios files gives me an "invalid windows license" error. Does anyone know how to get past that?

    I guess, it should be "-force" key, or something alike.
    Google for winflash options ;)

    Try running this command, it allows you to go back to a previous version.

    Run "AFU877 713D1P53.BIN BACKUP.BIN".
