I've tried everything with no sucess. The Bios Reset Tool didn't support my MoBo and the asset.com utility keeps saying "The operating system is preventing this utility from operating properly (SMI is not allowed).". I've generated the floppy drive using the Dell tool posted here, so it's not a "pure DOS" issue. I don't know if it helps, but it's a nVidia 6150 Mobo for AMD AM2 processor. According to CPU-Z, the mainboard is manufactured by Dell Inc. and its model# is 0RY206, MCP61 chipset.
I would use binary compare like BeyondCompare to compare the two original bios. if they are the same, you should be safe to flash the mod one too.
I have never seen any Dell tool that supports what you want to do for your bios, the tools you are using only work on Dell proprietary bioses as far as I have ever heard anyways, I am sorry but until a tool surfaces to handle hidden slic on the rest of the Dell bioses (Dell ami, award or standard phoenix).... good luck and please let us know should you find it,
Thank you for your offer to help. I tried to message you but it didn't work. Unfortunately I won't have access to this laptop until the Christmas break. I will make the report file and ask you then.
