    Ok i think i have it. It looks like i already have SLIC setup for windows 7 because its there for 8. I installed the dell certificate and serial on a whim and it worked. I thought when you enabled SLIC you also had to load in codes for a specific OS.

    Thanks for the lesson :)

    For future reference is it then true that if i get my hands on any oem pc like a dell which came with windows i can simply just install the certificate and key for any other windows version and it will work?
