The Dell 600M A17 mod that was posted a long time ago does NOT work. I disassembled the ROM files and I see why. The mod added a SLIC 2.1 and put a pointer to it in the RSDT but the BIOS code copies that RSDT from ROM into ram and then stuffs two table pointers into it, overwriting the pointer to the SLIC. Just for fun I tried manually fixing up the RSDT in memory and it worked but of course that only lasted until reboot. Can someone make a new rom mod for it, please?
hi serg i already tested the bios dellbiosreset and also dellstcd it boots up but after type y to confirm change service tag nothing more happen.. after reboot nothing changed..... Also tested the svctag.exe with that i got error : unable to get SMBIOS GPNV information. So my last hope was the bios from busykid.... or maybe you have another hint Serg008? Ty
@Serg008 Hehe thank you again, confirm working on Dell Vostro 1720 flashed with "DOS, type: ph161700 /x /FORCE /O /C /S BIOS.ROM <ENTER>" so above file work for Vostro 1320,1520,1720
