dell inspiron 6400 I have inspiron 6400n. When flashed with moded bios, everything is ok. after checking slic table with rw or everest i recive that table lenght is 37, and is not slic-ed. What i'm doing wrong
did u make the bios yourself or did u use one that was modded here ? no one allready modded this bios and it's confirmed to work ??? u used DOS package to mod ?
At the top of post (first page) there is a couple links to disks for resetting the service tag on n series PCs, that is supposed to fix the table length issue (something about manufacturing mode, running command asset pass 12/31 from the cd I think it was, I'll look that up today if you don't find it first..
Inspiron 1720 Modded Bios Question Just a quick question from a new forum follower. Has anyone, other than the tester listed tried the modded bios for the Dell Inspiron 1720? I would like to give it a shot but am very concerned and would like some feedback other than it has been tested. Sorry for the question, I looked around but didn't see too much information on it. Thanks for any information that can be provided.
Read post # 393 from its, his questions before that were about the serial and the certificate, ie activation. From the posts I have read MikeBuzz must have a 1555 and ran a package similar to what you are building, saved a copy of flashable.rom and added a line to another file to instruct winflash to flash SLIC 2.1, If you are really interested I am sure MikeBuzz put that in at least one of his posts BTW great work, I realize these mods are a bit different than mine, the bioses are different. Thanks to all of you for fufilling these additional requests. I think it is a good idea to keep all these Dell ones together. It has been said for so long that Dell can't be modded. I will try to keep up with posting these. BTW, my Studio 1535 mod has been tested again, I think that bricked laptop may have been just one of those unfortunate things that we all risk when flashing a bios. Anyways I am not posting the same DCCU windows flasher, I am posting it as a rebuilt Dell flasher, It was tested by jim.pwo, Thanks jim.pwo
I read that, but if you will check body of the flashabl.rom for package then you find that only Slick 2.0 are there. Question is somebody check that? Not many people will read all messages in this thread? May be better to take contact with MikeBuzz and clear? @shakeyplace Could you add the bios version to your list? For my part, I'd like to have a confirmation that the A09 version was used for the 9400/e1705 Anyway... Thanks for all of this... This is just great!
Yes, I'll try to update, should all be the most recent, most cases I went to Dell and directly downloaded the latest but some I used the links given.. e1705 is A09 (just checked)
Thanks! I was hoping so hard that dell phoenix could be modified... Maybe someone heard my prayers... Just in time for my "before next semester" format! Making the move to Windows 7 before going back to university!
Looks to me that you're right, M09 but SLIC 2.0.... I sent a pm. Did you want to put together a package as well? I don't think it would hurt, I have several models with more than 1 package.. Maybe its got mixed up and installed a lo*der? Yours looks much better
