Can I hack the D620 BIOS to say version A11? How would I do that?

I guess maybe someone linked me to an older bios? I can do that for you if you want... The latest is A10, isn't it? We can do that here or you can follow the instructions in the first post, I will have to update them soon though..

The latest is A10, but since the SLIC code was injected, it would be nice if it says A11. Can you upload that copy? Thanks!! ;)

The current version of the BIOS for the 540 STUDIO is a .bin file. How to do I convert the .rom ( the file that was posted) to .bin to execute the flash.

    Thanks for your patience

Wow sorry about that. It was sold last year and could be purchased with Windows 2008, which usually means there was a SLIC for preactivation. But it's a very low-end server so maybe Dell just included a retail product key if it was ordered with Server 2008.

Sorry to waste your time bud. Thanks for checking.

Well, you never know, try checking with RWEverything, I did notice that the bios isn't all that old. Who knows, Dell hasn't done it before but maybe they have a method of flashing the bios without updating the SLIC or something.. I am finding out as we go that Dell seems to try to do things many different ways, maybe to try to confuse us?
PS You're not wasting it, I learn lots as we go... I have a couple more motherboards coming in for testing. To see if I can fine tune these mods more.
