I've tried to flash my Dell 1537 N-series (came with DOS preinstalled) with modded BIOS provided by vtrash. Flashed successfully, but unfortunately SLIC remained hidden, SLIC tab isn't seen in RW-everything and also no SLIC record in Everest. So for N-series this won't work currently. In other threads there were discussions as to how to "unhide" SLIC on N-series Dell, but provided recipes won't work on 1537, while they work on 1535. Seems like 1537 is just too new (asset ... won't put 1537 in BIOS reset mode, resetting service tag with SVCTAG won't work also, tried with SVCTAG 3.4). So unfortunately there's no "getting proper SLIC" solution on Dell 1537n currently.

Umm, D620 has been discontinued for a very long time. They haven't released a BIOS update in over a year. And if they do, they CERTAINLY won't add SLIC 2.1 code.

The Precision Workstation 380 cannot be modded since it is SLP only. As mentioned before, your model must have had the option to order with Vista in order for the modding to be even possible to begin with.

P.S. The D620 BIOS mod works, activated Win7 with blacklisted Lenovo key.

there is also links to a thread here somewhere , it is said in the other thread to try to run commands asset pass 12/31 or asset pass 12/34 maybe try that and report back...
It has been a while since I have read the instruction though, can't service tag be changed with the asset app as well? I may be corrected on that.. maybe it has to be for the reset to happen?

I tried the D620 BIOS hack on a work laptop and Win7 activated correctly. D620 was one of the original mods so it has a high success rate.
