Changed USB sticks, can now boot into dos.

I renamed the orig dell Bios to dgx.exe, I can run it no problems, but when I type the syntax dgx.exe /readgzfile I get the error "Please verify program was executed properly"

I have comp the file to BIOS.gz not bios.hrt.gz

    Any Ideas?

    Try this :

    <DELLFILENAME> -readgzfile

what utility to compress a file to .gz file. I am using Total Commander. i choose .gz extension

If you get error again, i don't know how to do. I look what people do, i show you. I don't have laptop.

    Note :
you can download the bios file has .gz extension ( link above ),
open winzip, rename it to yyy.hdr, copy your bios.hdr to .gz file, then delete yyy.hdr (old name )

Yes I know that but...the links are the SAME. Both files are the SAME.

    Taka

I tried to download the bios.gzp file from the link above, but the link seems dead.

Could you gzip the file and stick it on fileshare or something?

    Cheers

    Dave

I know this is not a request but, wouldn't it useful to post the hashes of the modded BIOS in the main post?. That way, if the mod gets corrupted you'll know before bricking your computer.

    Thanks.

    Tried that, but no luck..
No activity on the floppy drive.
When I turn it on, I get CAPS Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock light, Power light, and HD Light on then after about 2-3 seconds, system shuts down..

    :(

    Thanks though.
