    it means if i flash my bios with this new one,and it will activate W7?
    But i flashed it but would not find SLIC till.
    Please advise.thanks a lot.

    Thanks Shakeyplace.
    Worked fine on "Inspiron 1720 ver. A09"

    edited..
    What i did
    1. Reset bios to default settings.
    2. In windows I disabled All spyware, malware, antivirus and any non essential apps.
    3. Ran the "windows flasher" (run as administrator)
    4. Let the flasher do its business. (Looked like nothing was happening then the laptop restarted and went though an extra long post screen.)

    Oh and My Inspiron 1720 was already updated to the original ver. A09 bios from dell. and The os was Win 7 RC 7100 x64

    Works on Dell Percision 390

    I tried the mod on my Dell Precision 390 and other than having to boot using F8 to disable digitally signed drivers, I now have slic 2.1. I don't think dell is going to update their bios on this model, so this is lifesaver if you want to use windows 7 Slic with activation. Thanks for the mod. :)
