I can confirm that the DOS version for Inspiron E1705/9400 works well.

Are we sure that there were no Precision 380's shipped with Vista?

What about Dell servers? PowerEdge BIOS files don't accept writehdrfile or writeromfile commands. I can extract hdr only. So, how can I figure out where rom starts and ends?

It is still under warranty - luckily- but I'm sure the ppl at Dell will start frowning if I call back within a week of having the motherboard replaced that it is completely dead again ;)

Should it matter which flash method I use? With the previous one (the one that bricked it), I used the Winphlash64 that was included in the archive, along with the modded bios.

    Dell Slic 2.1 Versions

I have a question concerning Dell Slic 2.1 versions. Does it matter which slic 2.1 table that is used for the bios mod? My original bios used dell slic 2.0 B8K and I have noted that there is a Dell slic 2.1 B10K. I would imagine that version would be the next progression for my bios. The mod that I used has the Dell M09 slic 2.1 version. My question is does it make a difference which slic 2.1 Dell version is used in the bios and if it does, could Shakeyplace mod my bios using the B10K slic table.

It doesn't matter which Slic are you using. The only requisite for activating Win 7 is that the Slic is 2.1 (no matter what brand is). If you modded your BIOS and flashed it and your PC is still working (and Win activated) DON'T MESS WITH YOUR BIOS ANYMORE.

And there's really no such thing as "progression" for a BIOS.
