sorry for the confusion, can I blame it on Dell? if you run the command on the 1.0.6 bios file XPS730-010006 -writeromfile it writes a file names A06.bin and being used to Dell usually naming the bios versions A0x I kept the file name as the bios version number.... I will update the link, you are right the bios version number is 1.0.6 that is the right bios for the XPS 730, I just mislabeled the version number..
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I just flashed the Bios with your rom and it works great. No problems. I double checked with RW-Everything and it is SLIC 2.1. Only thing though is that I haven't installed Windows 7 yet, so I can't say if it will activate it, but seeing that my Bios is now SLIC 2.1, I see no reason why it shouldn't activate. I should install windows 7 sometime this week, so I'll let you all know if it activates. So, for all those XPS 730 owners like me, now you know that there is a SLIC 2.1 bios for you and its all thanks to Shakeyplace! Shakeyplace, Thanks alot! Seeing how Dell no longer manufactures this model, I thought I would never get a SLIC 2.1 Bios. Thanks again. Update (21/9/09): I installed Windows 7 today and got it activated by inserting the Dell certs. Works great with no problems. Windows update works fine. Thanks, Shakeyplace!
