640m is already done - and tested. You can probably find it if you search. Look for e1405.

    TEST REPORT TO: Shakeyplace-sensei

It looks that I was the first (unfortunately! :() to try the kindly cooked by you M65.EXE BIOS flasher for a Precision M65 (Sorry but I didn't find any posts regarding this Dell model while looking thru this thread)

Thus, so far you have requested test results from the beginning, please find some of them as below:

    1. When trying to run M65.EXE as Administrator (+ UAC is always off + Norton AntiVirus 2010 autoprotect is disabled) >> Windows Error Popup:

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.
Please see the application event log for more detail.

    2. When trying to write .ROM and/or .HDR files from M65.EXE to localize the problem by comparing with the similar contents of genuine Dell M65_A10.EXE flasher:

    DOS Command Prompt

    Administrator: Command Prompt

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6002]
Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Users\IE>cd c:\Users\IE\Documents

    c:\Users\IE\Documents>M65.EXE -writeromfile
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is in
correct. Please see the application event log for more detail.

    c:\Users\IE\Documents>M65.EXE -writehdrfile
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is in
correct. Please see the application event log for more detail.

    c:\Users\IE\Documents>

NOTE! When doing the same as above with the genuine M65_A10.EXE > everything is OK!

Is it OK to try to run your M65.EXE in DOS mode from bootable CD? ('cause as far as I know the genuine M65_A10.EXE flasher is same and applicable for both Windows & DOS modes)

    OR any other ideas?:)

    THANK YOU!

    P.S. Tested on Laptop:
    M65 >> Intel Core2 T7600 >> 4GB RAM >> Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 Genuine Dell OEM (originally shipped with XP Pro x86 SP2 but Vista x64 SP1 OEM installed & activated smoothly)

BIOS A10 (Everest Ultimate 5.02.1856 Beta) info:

I used the search button and I saw the Dell xps 730:confused: However, my question is for Dell XPS 730 (X) Bios version 1.0.5

The one on the first page is XPS 730 1.0.6.(nvidia )

    Thanks for your help!!
