    Just download the patch from ShaKeyPlace tested all OK!, the bios is a small smd dil 8 IC don't remember it right now, but there is a emergency way of recover from bad bios update,search forum...

    I install Windows 7, and now i see Slic 2.1 :D
    To view the slic 2.1 you will install windows 7 first.
    It will not show up in windows vista.

    Do I rename the Vostro 1710 .rom file you supplied to .hdr to create a Dell BIOS flash utility? Or do I rename it .bin to flash it using the phoenix flash utility?
    Some info on how to use the .rom file would be very helpful to me.
