You cannot put one in or I would have done so....I am sorry but your bios is before Vista and until one comes out with a slic in it, you will have to use a loader.
@ Kermee Here is where I am at with your bios... it seems to be some sort of early Dell hdr file that extracts from the bios updater... I have not come accross this yet, perhaps it is even the first? The exe file has references to phlash16, seems to extract and flash using that, may also create a backup bios image when flashing. I am not positive if it is moddable or not, I do have some suggestions if you wish to pursue this. I recommend flashing the bios and seeing if a backup of the current bios is made. The dos file seems to accept the -forceit switch that can be used if it refuses to flash due to the current bios being the same version.. I suggest that you either a) flash the bios (using the -forceit switch if neccessary) and look for a bios.bak file in either your temp directory or the root of your drive or b) attempt to back up your current bios with either winphlash or phlash16. If you can do this successfully then I suspect that the bios may be a regular phoenix bios placed in some sort of early format hdr file and may therefore be moddable...
hello people, i'm back with the unknown version slic with everest. wich people with a dell laptop are able to see the slic version with everest ? everest doesnt work with the M1330 slic version, what others dell laptops are concerned ? in fact i would like to know if it's a problem with the bios or with everest. someone told me he was able to see the slic versio with another tool so i imagine it's cause of everest but maybe other people are able to see the slic version into everest with different dell laptop.
Ah, too bad. Thanks for your help anyway! And if there is a way to add slic in that bios, please let me know. Cheers!
The third link is for a rebuilt version of the original Dell bios(modded now of course) There is a system model check before flashing, it won't flash if the board is not compatable... I have not heard of any bricked boards with that, but there is always a chance of bricking a board when bios flashing, but I think that if that one were to brick your board then any bios flash probably would... over all, quite safe, the bios mod itself is tested quite a few times already, but if you absolutely cannot take a chance, then don't flash. Myself I would flash, I flash my PCs all the time and if it were to brick the board, I would say the board must have been faulty...
Thanks you both shakeyplace and Busykid508 for the help. BTW, Busykid508 the link you provided at the end is broken. Sorry for disturbing. EDIT: Ignore that. The link not opening may be a problem from my end not with the link itself.
