GiantsYankees, Your Dell bios is already SLIC 2.1. The modded bios likely won't help. Read about the ubuntu/freedos pcs a few posts before yours!!!!

    Dell Studio 1537

I tried to flash a "Dell Studio 1537" with the modded bios from post #2 in this thread.
The laptop flashed, but when i checked the SLIC, it was still version 2.0.

I checked it with RW everything.
    The bytes indicated that is was SLIC 2.0 (00 00 00 00).

Feedback from anyone who has successfully added SLIC 2.1 to a Dell Studio XPS 435MT with a 1.1.3 BIOS would be much appreciated.

From what I have read, it looks like you have to use AFUDOS from a bootable USB flash drive on that model. I have created a bootable flash drive and I'm not sure what is the proper command to use after I boot to it.

If the modified BIOS is "xxxxxxxx.BIN" do you use "AFUDOS /ixxxxxxxx.BIN" or "AFUDOS /ixxxxxxxx.BIN /P/B/N/C" or something else?
