just rename the extension to rom, or whatever. or choose "all files" from the drop down menu (assuming there is one, I believe someone said there was)
there is reported success with the version from ntt, but that is the 1.1.2 version of the bios. It appears as though Andyp has updated his tool since and it appears to handle the bios better but hasn't been reported as working or not... (as far as I know)
If someone can extract the bios file, I will try to mod it...but I have been totally unsuccessful in extracting any files from it
Dell Vostro 1500 modded BIOS with the Dell icon worked like a charm on mine. Booted straight back into my Windows Vista Ultimate, updated to SP1, then ran Windows 7 Ultimate OEM RTM and upgraded the system applied the license file and now is permanently activated. This laptop runs a LOT better with Windows 7 on it than with Vista Ultimate!
