    Thanks for you reply...
i backuped the file using Winphlash, it already has Slic 2.0...
there's no X01 BIOS found on Dell website, and i tried A01, but it told me unsupported ID found, and Phlash16 also get error...
is it possible to mod this BIOS file?

I know if you look for a XPS 430 bios file it only shows Axx bioses, what I am wondering, and since you do have your service tag number... do they show an X01 bios download if you search the downloads with your service tag number??? I know you said they don't have an X01 bios download. I just want to confirm it that way if possible...

I know.. I see from the winplash file that the bios is X01, I just really want to be as safe as possible when modding it.. If winphlash is right, then your bios is 1 Mb, not 900 kb and definetly not compatable with the Axx bioses...

It would flash if you use the /forcetype switch, but if the bios chip itself is not compatable it will brick your pc... If you have warranty you may consider that, but I would look at alternatives first...

Shakeeplace, thanks a lot for your time. Yes, I can work with DOS command, so please give me the link of the Linux live CD for a trial. I will try to get the rom again booting with pure DOS and upload it later.

BTW, there is no service tag on my MB, the current one was written by myself manually, so the BIOS cannot be found on Dell website.:D

I tried again, with command 'XPS430A01.exe /readromfile /forcetype', but returned 'Invalid command line'???
