Dell Vostro 230 desktop mod/hack?

    I have a question to the forum's gurus: is there a way to install alternative BIOS/mods/other hacks to my Dell Vostro 230 desktop (Motherboard ID: 64-0100-009999-00101111-121809-Eaglelake$1AAAA000_BIOS DATE: 12/18/09 16:16:08 VER: 08.00.15)?

    I'd like to extend system memory to 8Gb (currently I have only 4) but damn Vostro doesn't work with 4Gb DIMMs (I have 2x4Gb DIMMs with exactly same parameters (except size) as currently installed 2x2Gb - DDR3-1333 PC3-1066, SPD CL9-9-9-24, 1.5V).

    Any help or info will very appreciated, thanks!

    P.S. I searched BIOS Mods forum but can't find any info about Vostro 230 and memory limitation hack. Also, I've read on Dell forum, it's very specific (damn Dell!) software limitation, not a hardware...
