I got the home prem, same deal install.wim 3.85GB, total of 5.74GB.

Whats the deal, howcome dells DVD is so much larger then the other oem dvds?

Is there anythign extra like an extra edition or something?

my dvds are only the 4Gb ones!

    --------------------

I removed the langpacks folder and now it comes to 4.38Gb woo, now i just gotta make sure it still works.

I think they use 8.5 GB DVD ,..

install.win file is too big .. in somecases if write that DVD with high speed we'll get error so write that DVD at slow speed ..

for this 5.74GB DVD language packs folder is also high size .. to need windows below the 4.5GB download the DVD without more language files ..

I dont know how to delete the language packs .. i was tried but failed at installation ..

I can see that I have a lot to learn here. When I look through the "The Official Windows 7 Guide" thread, it's kind of intimidating. I'm completely new to this so to me in my mind, the simplest thing to do was to just download a windows 7 operating system file that had been copied from a disc completely just like an original.

It sounds like that's what you guys are talking about here, but it seems that there are still a couple of tricks that need to be done to make it all safe. I'll continue looking around the forum to learn more for now and I'll keep an eye on this thread. Looks like the thing to do is to get a disc especially for my brand of computer.

    I have a Dell Optiplex GX280.

Hopefully that shouldn't be a problem.

Would love to see some more people post that this download has worked for them.
