Hello, Do you think it is possible to disable the nvidia gtx 635m (optimus) in my bios? It's poorly managed and very hot in my ultrabook (in windows it does not heat... but I'm not in windows... thank's nvidia...) And I do not have a menu in the bios to disable it (thank's asus...) I do not understand how to do, please help me. My bios : BIOS 209 in asus.com and my pc is asus s56cm Sorry I can not post my bios here
"but im not in windows ".. ahh OSX . AppleGraphicsPowerManagement needs your cards device id to match to control the speeds. ask asus for the option.. they might send u a beta bios. (safer than us messing with it)
Thank you for your answer. Yes, I have mac os, everything works great except the graphics card ... I deactived to remove the kext but it's still hot and battery is lower. I tried to patch my DSDT file but it is too complicated, there is no patch for my pc. I'll try to edit AppleGraphicsPowerManagement but there in no kext for gtx 635m and optimus il not compatible with mac os I'll send an email to Asus, hoping for an answer ...
method AppleGraphicsPowerManagement not work I need a bios modded What should I change in my bios to disable the gtx 635m please help me
I don't know, msi afterburn does not work with my graphics card, I can not test voltages for flash. I think the flash at 0 volt but I'm afraid to kill. On my desktop I flash my graphics card for overclock with osx, but I tested with msi afterburn before flashing.
I give 50 € to unlock the one who puts the menu "disable optimus' in my bios. I really need help please, my ultrabook is very hot
oo i know.. i just dont take risks. but i have eeprom programmer so i usualy make a backup.bin of chip first.
ok don't worry my desktop works perfectly GTX 560TI @1000mhz ram @2400mhz (watercooled) please help me for my laptop
I have undervolt my laptop vga bios. It seems a bit cooler now. But how can you disable a video graphic? 0 volt is disable but you need to boot? So why not 0 volt when it's the discrete video card?
It scares me to flash at 0 volts. I do not know if the pc will be able to boot. in lenovo bios can disable the 2nd card. On Asus the menu is hidden
Why are you scared? Isn't this a Phoenix bios? In my bios I have recovery boot block. I can always flash bios.
It's can be an option rom. It starts with hex 55 hex AA. You can also try to remove the option rom. It should disable the discrete card. That's also the reason when you can still boot at least when you have a recovery boot block.
I have disable my GTX 635m in my DSDT.aml with this : Method (PINI, 0, NotSerialized) { \_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._OFF () \_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._PS0 () } -------------------------------------------------- Method (_WAK, 1, Serialized) { PINI () WAK (Arg0) Return (Package (0x02) { Zero, Zero }) } -------------------------------------------------- Method (_INI, 0, NotSerialized) { PINI () Store (0x07D0, OSYS) If (CondRefOf (\_OSI, Local0)) { If (_OSI ("Windows 2001")) { Store (0x07D1, OSYS) } If (_OSI ("Windows 2001 SP1")) { Store (0x07D1, OSYS) } If (_OSI ("Windows 2001 SP2")) { Store (0x07D2, OSYS) } If (_OSI ("Windows 2001.1")) { Store (0x07D3, OSYS) } If (_OSI ("Windows 2006")) { Store (0x07D6, OSYS) } If (_OSI ("Windows 2009")) { Store (0x07D9, OSYS) } } } And I saved 50 euros
