No warez on this forums please I've tested the ESET 5 - Also is an good antivirus, fast as McAfee, I've not found many FP's, and an nice GUI
I 've infected all my systems machine and try almost 2012 anti-virus engine and my top 5 is : 1- EAM (Emsisoft anti-malware) (Ikarus and emsisoft engine). 2- Coranti (Bit defender, Lavasoft, f-prot engines) 3- Kaspersky (house engine) 4- G-Data (Bit defender and avast engine) 5- Trustport server version (avg and vipre engines) windsman.
I liked Emsisoft very much. I was in the EAM 6 beta. It has the fastest scanner and good detection rates. I always use their emergency kit to clean infected pc's.
I think it's kaspersky... good interface and everything........... (of course I haven't used all of this, I'll try eset soon) can I change my poll (If I need to) after trying another antivirus????
Too bad you asked for best "PAID" AV because you are losing couple of free ones which could be better than any of the paid one. Can I know the reason?
An antivirus is one area where I wouldn't think a free one could match or exceed a good paid one. Its about the ability of the companies to keep up with the virus definitions. Having an update once a week is no good, it leaves too much time to be susceptible to new viruses. Free antiviruses just don't have the money and support behind them to provide effective, excellent protection. The 'free' (home versions) of Avast, AVG, and Antivir all have the backing of the paid versions, and in some ways actually act as an advertisement for the full version for company use. Microsoft Security Essentials has the backing of Microsoft. All the home versions of paid antiviruses have functionality limited in some way (usually 'minor' things), enough though that they aren't as good as their paid versions. So talking about true free antiviruses you can't include these and others like them, and in that respect I doubt whether they can match Kaspersky, ESET, Norton, Trend etc.
All have their drawbacks, Kaspersky has a good cleaning record but misses stuff on scanning and it slows down pc. Norton has good detection record but not that good cleaning and the same goes for Eset. Then you have Avira with good detection and cleaning record but the false positives are ridiculous.
Here's the problem of COMODO, AVIRA, AVG and PANDA No much false-positives for my MCAFEE here, I've also the Kaspersky on my notebook ti have low FP's.
That is right, Paid AV is better than Free ones. In my opinion the best one are: Paid: Kaspersky Free: MSE
"The most popular Paid Antivirus Engines", this thread is focused to evaluate the best PAID antivirus engine of 2012, who does not use is another matter. Free antivirus isn't present on this list. And the pool maximum length is 10.
Well I get where you coming from but I have bad experience with paid AV programs First they were resource hogs back in a day some even today, They made more problems than they were useful like a needy woman, Using scare tactics to sell their low value products Even making viruses themselves so they would come later and solve the problems or give hard time to competition (no proof for that). Pay for protection of your business for a small fee or else. So I guess I don’t like them from ideological reasons, LOL. Full respect to your thread though!
kaspersky has proven to me that it is the very best Antivirus out there. It has fixed my pc of serious issues many times recently.
