The first thing I look for in any Anti-Virus/Firewall or combo is how less intruding it is & how less resources it needs. I believe if you are an educated computer user(I mean know what sites & other things to avoid) then you don't need an Anti-Virus at all, except once in a while(that too only if you want) just to make sure your data is not infected.
i loved eset smart security and still recommend it for most people. and i have gone on that comparison site before. i just started this thread to see what other peoples opinions were and get in touch with some of the MDL community.
Well depends on if it's Business or Home use. For business with alot of workstations I prefer Kaspersky Endpoint Select, Easy of deployment from central server, great detection rate (for both known and unknown threats), easy to use and understand management console to see exactly what each client status is, push out events (ie. Run reports, issue manual scans, schedule scans, check for security updates..etc). For home user Nod32 or Kaspersky (Detection rate for both known and unknown threats) Anything else then these two is subpar and uneffective.
Norton Internet Security 2013/2014 .... generally easy to use, not a resource hog anymore, effective, better ratings than most other software... no major complaints here.
So how does NOD32 fair up against Microsoft Security Eessentials? Which will be better to use on a Windows 8 PC with 2gb ram?
Hi, need some help in choosing a free antivirus for an xp machine 896mb ram. I installed avast 2014 but the system performed extremely slow. I am now installing bitdefender. So I thought I would ask what free antivirus would you all recommend.
free AVG is all I used for a free based AV for years. Although I've seen one person say it slows their system, I've never experienced it personally
why did'nt you google it ? there is plenty of proof showing it's crapware, I suggest that next time you search by yourself before posting
