Firefox 131 working on Windows 8.1 without any modifications. Zen-Browser 1.0.0a34 (based on Firefox 129.0.2), a Firefox fork with Vertical tabs, other enhancements, security and privacy features working on Windows 8.1 without any modifications. Very interesting browser which is also very pleasing to the eye. This browser is gaining recognition very fast. To be honest, first time I have seen somebody implementing vertical tabs without any flaws, glitch or visual artifacts. Compare that to Floorp, a complete mess. No wonder everybody is running to Zen. Zen also working on Windows 7 with VxKex 1.1.1+
As far as features and security are concerned when using them with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, which of these 2 browsers would be the better one to use? Mozilla Firefox ESR 115.15.0 Eclipse r3dfox 129.0.2
Thomas: Thanks for your reply and comments. I downloaded a copy of the portable version, then extracted its contents into a named folder, then ran the "r3dfox.exe" file to load it. I then went into its settings and set it up pretty much like I usually set up Mozilla Firefox ESR. After I was finished and closed it, I copied the folder(272 MB) to a USB thumb drive. Because I have 4 PC's, and I needed to copy the folder to each PC to use it, I assumed I needed to set it up for each PC. I happily discovered the original desired settings are retained and do not need to be repeated. After I use it for a few weeks, I will decide whether to keep using it or not.
Yes, that is exactly what I did, but I find a few too many mistakes that r3dfox makes und there is no forum that is actually really available. So, I literally one minute ago downloaded 115 FF.exe, in case I want to re-install it... once Mozilla officially declares contiuous support for Win7
With the exception of a couple of sites that I use Internet Explorer 11.0.240 with, Mozilla Firefox ESR 115.15.0 is what I use for Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I am hoping that support for it will be extended. If not, I will probably switch to Eclipse r3dfox.
It appears to be official. Mozilla Firefox ESR 115 will support Windows 7 until April 1, 2025. Hopefully, support will be extended even further until January 2026. That appears to be the date when Windows 7 unofficially stops receiving post-ESU updates.
