As far as features and security are concerned when using them with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, which of these 2 browsers would be the better one to use? Mozilla Firefox ESR 115.15.0 Eclipse r3dfox 129.0.2
Thomas: Thanks for your reply and comments. I downloaded a copy of the portable version, then extracted its contents into a named folder, then ran the "r3dfox.exe" file to load it. I then went into its settings and set it up pretty much like I usually set up Mozilla Firefox ESR. After I was finished and closed it, I copied the folder(272 MB) to a USB thumb drive. Because I have 4 PC's, and I needed to copy the folder to each PC to use it, I assumed I needed to set it up for each PC. I happily discovered the original desired settings are retained and do not need to be repeated. After I use it for a few weeks, I will decide whether to keep using it or not.
Yes, that is exactly what I did, but I find a few too many mistakes that r3dfox makes und there is no forum that is actually really available. So, I literally one minute ago downloaded 115 FF.exe, in case I want to re-install it... once Mozilla officially declares contiuous support for Win7
With the exception of a couple of sites that I use Internet Explorer 11.0.240 with, Mozilla Firefox ESR 115.15.0 is what I use for Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I am hoping that support for it will be extended. If not, I will probably switch to Eclipse r3dfox.
It appears to be official. Mozilla Firefox ESR 115 will support Windows 7 until April 1, 2025. Hopefully, support will be extended even further until January 2026. That appears to be the date when Windows 7 unofficially stops receiving post-ESU updates.
