Other than the winraid forum, I haven't received any messages or complaints about upgrading Firefox 115 and have continued to use it for banking and online purchases. I do however have some concerns about banking and online purchases with any of the Firefox forks as there are no guarantees the developer hasn't added some hidden nefarious code. So for now I have only been using R3dfox to visit sites that don't require that type of information.
Been using R3dfox for over a year now..using for banking and online purchases..no problems...with any browser be smart and have security installed..and this goes with Win 10 and Win 11..nobody is secure.
as FF ESR 115 now finally has come to an end,, I'm also looking for an alternative on a Windows 7 system So R3dfox is often refered and recommened. But also some bad comments from reddit, that it is a buggy port and not that good... So ist there any "best" modern-Firefox for Windows 7?
Other than my concerns with purchases and banking which have been mostly allayed by babs70's post, I haven't encountered any bugs or problems with R3dfox 148.0 during my testing over the past couple of weeks.
Well, long live Mozilla! I think, since they extended the support for the fourth time now, it would have been a better decision to update Windows 7/8 users to FF128 or even F140. 115 is getting older and older and they could have at least supported these systems till 128. We would have a more modern base. Now, we outlived FF128 ESR and will probably also outlive 140 ESR, which is ironic
I've recently been having problems with websites not working properly with Firefox 115.33.0 Lowe's product search function now returns the following error: And Home Depot search: As well as the past month or so the weather channels search for a location returns this: These errors occur for me on several computers with Firefox 115.33.0 in Normal and Troubleshoot mode. r3dfox 148.0 works fine with all three sites.
unfortunately makes not a big difference, beause more and more websites do not work properly with FF 115 anymore. So R3dfox would be a better choice. yes they should update the "long ESR-Version" (currently 115) to 128 (or even 140). Would be a nice turn from mozilla. But i highly doubt they would make this step....
Sometimes, you can get around these "Access Denied" messages if you lie about your User Agent. But not all.
I have noticed that as well. An increasing number of websites now expect FF128 as the minimum version.
For the past few days, I haven't been able to establish a voice connection (private or public) in the browser or the app (it still works on my phone). I'm also having these issues in a VM.
I remember trying a few different ones that worked on Windows 7 but I don't recall them off the top of my head, sorry. But I am glad to hear it works for you now!
