oh it has the metro start, but the full scale launcher is the first thing I click hehe you're welcome!
Thank you Atari for remembering my previous problems with Active DI. I basically abandoned it - instead, I discovered a the successor of the famous Symantec Ghost - Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2. It's speed is about 40% higher than that of Terabyte IFL using medium compression and the file size of the backup is on par with IFL backup. It's boot USB supports UEFI Secure boot also. Not sure if you could put it in your 8.1SE... Oh it also supports EXT4 file system so it's a plus for me, as I have a Ubuntu 14.04 LTS laptop.. Regards, oliverjia
I image once a month with DISM. Just one full wim each time from RE or usb. Used imagex earlier till it got depreciated.
Here are my findings doing weekly backups on 4/5 PCs in my home office and some clients computers. AOMEI alone was used religiously for years as I loved the speed and lack of bloat. However, on more than one occasion I had to manually resize partitions before the restore or repair the boot files. PARAGON was the next *beast* I tried and really loved the available tools and reliability through versions 12 and 14. Paragon 15 has caused me to revert back to AOMEI after test restores failed on two different boxes. After heavy testing over the last month or so, AOMEI has passed every test I've thrown at it (I still use both for now). BTW, the latest Paragon 15 v.10.1.25.431 has not failed me yet. I know ACRONIS seems to be the most popular, but I was thrown off from the massive bloat on day one and removed the trial. I'll give it another try when I decide which of the two I currently use will be replaced. Lot's of time and tests will tell which will be the keeper for 2015 for me.
With regards to acronis unless you are using scheduled backups I would say most just use the bootable cd/dvd or usb.
What you think of AX64 Time Machine? Is it good enough and worth money spent on this software? It looks very good.
I used it for about 3 months, if its mandatory that you have by the minute backups then it works very well. I liked it, but it is overkill for me personal needs. Pretty nice program though, never had issues with it the time I ran it.
