    debian kernel has so many issues : usb3 speed. kernel is still not so prepared to modprobe a usb3 card even latest 5.5.7 dont .

    Install a different icon theme. Numix is pretty good.

    On my distro it should be the application/octet stream MIME type, i've to change the corresponding icon inside the directory of the icon theme i'am using, *.png or *.svg

    mim.png type.png
