[DISCUSSION] Debian

Maybe the setting.conf of calamares needs some tweaks!!!

I misread the "custom" with system, as in hardware, instead of debian. I've come across such customization for Arch using calamares, not debian. Have you checked if someone over at the debian forums has done this?

Are you looking for help or is this just a complaint. If you want help, we need a lot more info. Such as the modified live iso. Calamares config file, and what errors, failure are you seeing. You obviously extracted the squash file. What specifically have you done. At what point does calamares fail?

 

I am currently still using bullseye for everything.

so far, I'm impressed. I started from pure netinstall with no DE installed and have rolled my own as I usually do.

starting from pure debian has been so much more productive for me that starting from so many other minimal installs of the various distros.

 

Do you know any guide or tutorial on how to do this? For Arch there's ArchWiki but I haven't found anything like it for Debian. I would like to do a minimal custom install.

Hi buddy, yes I'm tired of Microsoft's tyrant dictating how my machine should work Windows is less and less customizable and people keep using it and even creating hype with something that doesn't bring any real improvement. As long as people have that kind of attitude Microsoft will continue to do what it wants. And I don't think people will change their attitude. So for me Windows has no solution.

i agree buddy unfortunately, well any minute i might be using some open source distribution again and for gaming i should install any version of Windows without internet access just for my favorite games; and to finish there is a saying here in Brazil that goes like this: who plants reaps and this serves to M$FT can believe and those who live will see...

well I like the Debian Distribution although it is a bit comminced to configure to my view however it is stable and of course very safe too

 

I like debian for its lightness, debian and arch for me are the best distros for being the lightest. I don't care if I have a little more work to configure if the end result is better

With the facilities comes the weights in the system. I don't need a routine to let me know that I have to update the system for example, it consumes resources. I like the system with as little necessary as possible

I think it takes a lot more work to remove all the bloatware and telemetry from windows 10/11

 

correct I think the same thing and of course we get rid of the s**t too...
