hi, latest version: Internet Download Manager best for me also. He works great in windows 7 & 8 64 bits IE10 / Waterfox
I use IDM as well for several reasons: fast downloads mutlipel downloads downloads of movies directly and more! For FTP i use 3DFtp which also has an build in accelerator and is also faster than any other! Also Payware, worth the money!
Hey guys, I have a cheap internet package (don't ask) with a download cap of about 120Kb/s (browser or torrent makes no difference.) I've been using the Autodesk download manager and can't believe I'm getting close to 1Mb/s; I knew my connection was capable but I thought it was locked in the hardware modem, how is it that software alone can break the speed limit ? And more importantly, can I do something so I get that speed all the time ? Thanks.
Well, would hate to break it to you but some Download Managers display speed in Kilo Bits per second (kbps) (e.g. 1 mega bits per second in your case) and some (e.g. Internet Download Manager) list the speed in Kilo Bytes per second (KBps) (e.g. 120 KBps for your scenario). So, in nutshell you have a 1 mbps internet connection (which is a good thing) . Try IDM for testing the speed.
I would like for a way to download programs from softpedia via command line (for an updater tool I am developing). This is made difficult due to: A) the popup box coming up to choose which source you would like to download from and B) the randomly generated link for the download url Using a third party program is fine (like wget or curl), as long as I can feed it info and have it pop out a download. Anyone have a good idea how I might accomplish this?
GetRight all the way... I did used it from beginning my internet time, now almost 25 years ago. And i still use this program to download anything i wish for. Also use IDM sometimes, these two programs have the most options ever.
