is that necessary if i cloned the repo in visual studio and did build and ran defendnot-loader.exe? also, it doesn't remove but disable. i was hoping this would help lower the memory usage of microsoft defender's processes but it only did by a little...disappointed, wanted to tweak my 8 gig ram lappy
Hello everyone. I have a question. I apologize if this was answered before. What is the PROPER way right now to disable defender and automatic updates?
You have probably disabled Security Center? Technically, it has nothing to do with security, in the past it was called Action/Notification center. It takes several seconds to load, because Settings is a scripted UWP app now, but it might be the result of disabled Security Center.
MS is pushing back again with the latest engine. Microsoft Defender Core Service has become more persistent and runs when disabled, but it does not interfere with disabled Defender, yet.
That's why I'm not in favor of frequently installing Microsoft Defender platform updates—either don't disable it in the first place, or, if you do, make sure it's disabled permanently.
Well, I am on Insider, so I have to disable like every week. But Core service is no longer running on 27871, so maybe it was just a bug on 27868?
Windows 11 build 27871 booted via Life CD flash drive Used the Everything program by typing in the search SecHealthUI SecurityHealthSystray NisSrv WdNisSvc MpAsDesc defender WindowsAI Windows AI StartMenuExperienceHost (Start menu) immediately replace with an alternative before deleting. copilot WinDefend regrecall CoreAI EDGE After that I press delete everything I see. I reboot the machine and see Windows booting in 4 seconds Everything flies, and most importantly it works. No need to disable anything in the registry, this infection turns on anyway. Physically destroy the fascist scum at the root, crush the vermin. Before deleting, guys, make a backup of the entire system!
i used to remove stuff from windows but i learnt it causes more issues than it's worth. i just disable stuff i don't use or require, rather than delete. the only things i remove now are the junk apps. disabling is the safest option. all the stuff the last user just listed can just be disabled / ignored. registry and registry policies takes care off everything. but for defender toggle defender is the best option right now.
you can remove all defender foler, and if not delete, move to temp folder, reboot computer --> maybe update will fail
@drew84 @BetaTesta Use this.... To disable and keep os ready for update https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ows-10-installation.88040/page-5#post-1873444
The initial question was, where to find (answered) as to its relevence, @RanCorX2's recommendation would suggest it still is. I personally don't have an issue with defender my only interest in this thread is, to keep up with current solutions should the need to remove defender arise on other machines that I work on... but thank you for the thought.
