Yes it is. Comodo Browser is very slow for me with Secure DNS enabled. It should be faster in theory right? Anyone knows why it doesnt work?
Because latest Chrome/Chromium uses GPU acceleration by default. Any problem with graphics drivers could result in a bad performance for some people.
It was a problem with Comodo Secure DNS. Its working now. Still having random freezes / hangs etc. (But mouse is always alive...) I tried everything. Microsoft what are you doing :] edit: I think it is becouse of foobar...so many programs not working correctly... edit 2: Yes - it was foobar
News for Windows 8 from E3 Microsoft Press Conference: The music application in Windows 8 will be renamed in the future to Xbox Music. This application will be possible to use all the current Zune functions. Same will be for movies. It will be named Xbox Video. Xbox Smartglass got announced. This will be an application for Windows 8 and Xbox. With it can you watch a movie on your tablet/Xbox and then continue exactly where you was on one of these devices. Also if your watching a television show on the Xbox then can you see on the tablet the location of where the scene got shot. (Live interaction between the devices.)
On my laptop build 8400 added more instability. The previous version was way more stable. It seems that more SSD users seem to have this problem. Problem is that the system just "locks" or "crashes", only thing still working is the mouse, but nothing else. Only thing left to do is hold the power button to force a shutdown of the system. This can happen 5 minutes after startup, or after 7 hours work. Or something inbetween. Solutions for this issue are most welcome, already tried: -Latest BIOS version from laptop manufacturer -Different driver for SATA (from intel) -Switching off pagefile (was suggested on another forum) -Reinstallation with new downloaded ISO In the CP build 8250, there was no such problem. My system: Sony VAIO VPCSE 8 GB memory 180 GB SSD Corsair Force 3 I5-2430M Processor
Big problems when using an internet connection with ipv6 adress. Lots of error "... does not have a valid ip configuration"
I finally removed windows 8 Release Preview, constantly freezing, some programs did not work yet worked in consumer preview. I will wait for the final version.
Where did you see someone relate it to SSD users in particular? That sounds like something difficult to determine without a substantial thread. I wonder, does Hunter3000 also have a Core CPU? When we combine what you two are saying with what I said about Opera 12 causing the identical type of freeze (Core i5 here) with what I'm seeing people in a MS thread say about other browsers causing the same freeze, I'm wondering if RP has a broader problem with EIST and C States than what was showing up in CP (only Opera 12 caused it there that I ever saw). Try temporarily disabling one or the other in the BIOS and see if the problem disappears. They're both typically enabled on Intel Core systems. Meanwhile, as more people report in as to having this problem and the state of the two settings, we may be able to get to the point of proving that this isn't just an Opera problem.
My home PC has 2 SSDs in RAID0 (vertex3) and my notebook also has SSD (vertex2) installed. No problems detected...
No problems using SSD raid here... just finished Max Payne 3 also on it. Have a different question.... DPC latency, is it normal, can you measure it guys, or I have some sort of ill driver around...
google chrome crashes like hell....I faced the same problem with it in windows 7 too...memory usage topped the charts and the system will stop responding....now similar issue happens with windows 8 rp too....other than that its perfect
Been using it for a few days, noticed a few annoying bugs: 1. Sometimes when I Shutdown a error message pops up relating to winlogon.exe and no disk in drive F: 2. Switching to Windows Basic theme screws up the scroll bar graphics in Chrome 3. Certain apps won't install 4. Don't know if it's a bug but you can't close Windows Defender if you run a scan, it will abort the scan if you do, surely if it's running in the background you should still be able to close it like MSE does
