Unknown hard error from Explorer on switching to the desktop after booting, easily dismissed and then everything as normal? Anybody else [x64]???
I have had 2 problems both install related the first was I burn't an ISO image and every time I got the partition part of the install I had no HDD,s showing even with trying to install the array drivers, the second was I could not create a USB version using the m$ USB tool both problems turned out to be the same thing, my ISO was corrupt, so after downloading it again all worked fine. BTW love the O/S feels really fast and stable, this has made my ageing x58 chipset feel a bit more modern, I almost feel like I have had a new rig.
OK, so this means that there is more than one cause of this problem. Unfortunately, you'll have to keep looking for it.
Thanks for your interest to Power8! If you like the idea and/or you have suggestions/feature requests - please don't hesitate to contact developers about that (contacts available via link above). Also, we're approaching Alpha 4 with complete search, so stay tuned
Installed WPR and now am seeing lock up randomly. The screen will freeze then I can move the mouse a little and maybe get to the Task Manager but then nothing moves. Have to hard boot. Have the latest drivers installed including latest ATI driver. This did not happen on WCP. Anyone else experiencing? thanks
How did you get it to run? When I run CMD as an administrator and try to run SFC /scannow I get an error about windows not allowing the program to run.
sfc /scannow works fine here too when run from the command prompt. dunno why its not working for you.
Yes, same for me, with Opera 12 when I minimize it and then maximize again. Overall performance seems slower on WRP than on WCP. And more bugs )
just copy paste the way i have it sfc /scannow all lower case, with a space between sfc and the slash, for some reason win8 RC is picky about that it just took forever to rebuild the WinSxS Folder i had deleted it
When I run sfc /scannow in CMD with administrator privileges, this is the error I get: "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service."
I gave up and started over with a fresh installation. Hopefully I won't do whatever I did that caused the problem the first time.
after the WinSxS Folder was rebuilt, the OS was very sluggish: web browsing, file transfer,torrenting.etc.So i decided to do a fresh install, but this time i did it on an SSD and win8 is blazing fast,i'm very happy
