Guys from win8 DP,then CP then RP i still have same problem pc freeze randomly, mouse is moving but no click nothing on... Ctrl+alt+canc leave me in menu without any possibility of interaction. Yesterday i found the problem. I had installed RP till release and not an issue, yesterday i find out that my synaptics driver weren't installed, and that i had java 7 x86 over 64 bit. So i installed synaptics and java7 64. Then problem started coming up, random freeze---> hard shutdown! Uninstalled Synaptics driver and nothing changed.... So i figured out that the problem could be java 64. And that it is! No more freezes till now. So anyone knows why java 64 do this?
I'm on an SSD and is working fine. The Only glitch I get is IE !) on the desktop act stupid and not want to open. The Metro version works fine.
Chrome is killing my Windows 8 RP. I have the bubbles screensaver enabled and now it says "Windows can't run this screensaver". If I open a Metro App it only shows the "App preview" and then it closes itself. If I try to run XBMC it gives me an error about can't create D3D surface...etc. Everything is fixed after closing Chrome an open it again. I suspect of the new GPU acceleration from Chrome.
Please, help! I'm tired of MS Office 2010 "Shift+Insert" instead of "ctrl+V"! It happens sometimes and I have to restart Office for several time until I have commonly used "ctrl+V" hotkey for paste. Is there a solution available?
Security Security Security....... and so on I have solved most of my problems and learned to ignore the others, at least most of them. One of the things that really bugs me is that I can't do certain things over the network. For instance, I can't import settings into the registry editor over the network. Now if they wanted to lock that down they could at least give an "Access Denied" message, but I get a message that my network path is invalid and that the network computer is no longer accessable. How misleading is that? I store a lot of stuff on a centralized server and this is really annoying. I have to copy all the .reg files to the desktop and then they work. If anyone has found a way around this I would like to know. Even when I specifically run regedit as administrator it still happens. Grrrrr!
