I have an I5-2430M and disabling C states in not possible in my BIOS (i have a fully locked down bios from sony) But if you are saying that enabling hyper-v will sort the problem then i am willing to try that. But as a curiosity, what does hyper-v do that should prevent these issues ?
Thanx for the info.....I got this from wincert.net,,,,just listing a few softwares for getting a not so familiar start menu.....i dont know whether this is posted previously or not.... Here's the list: 1. ClassicShellSetup from sourceforge 2. Vistart 3. Start8 from Stardock. These applications dont get the original start menu....but get a start menu which is kind of mixture of the traditional start menu and the metro ui. Found something really useful for guys who use start menu.....there is a software which installs tiles for basic shutdown options on the metro desktop....i installed it on server 2012....and it works well...i cant post the link as i dont have enough posts but here is what u can do. 1.type "liit.co.nr/?3rzi1" (without quotes) in the browser address bar and u can download the stuff..... It needs .net framework 4.0. Hope this helps to atleast some guys...

maybe a bug with flash player on windows 8.. I use vudu to watch movies, and it refused to work on my windows 8 in both nightly and regular builds of firefox the move would not start saying technical problems and then flashplayer error popped up blaming memory address error chrome.....never plays the movies in windows 7 or windows 8... internet explorer plays the movie but white boarder even when full screen. had to switch to windows 7 to watch.....
I've had a look through this thread, am I right in believing that win 8 is having issues on core ix? I'm only asking as I have a core i3 and I was thinking about giving win 8 a try.
Dude, I have a Intel Core i5 (1st generation), and it works great! Although Windows 8 Release Preview has (I think) more bugs than Consumer Preview and Developer Preview.
